We Like Google AdWords For Our Clients
It is easy to get started quickly with McCord Web Services' Quick Start Plus AdWords program. Set up and the first four weeks of management costs you only $650 and AdWords really works.
The best part of this type of ad exposure is that you pay nothing for showing your ad to millions of prospects; building brand identification in the process. You only pay when a prospect clicks your ad and enters your website. The number of clicks divided by the number of impressions equals the Click Through Rate known as CTR.

Cost Per Click (CPC) and Cost Per Impression (CPI) Explained
Mark Montserin, President

What you pay for each AdWords Cost Per Click (CPC) is determined by you! How frequently your ad is served is determined by the maximum CPC and your ad's daily budget. You can select to show your ads globally, nationally, regionally, or even in a targeted area determined by your address or by latitude and longitude.
Not only does Google show your targeted keyword ads in its huge search network consisting of additional partners like AOL, Ask Jeeves, and Amazon.com, but your ad (after about 2 days) will be shown in Google's content publisher network and websites showing Google AdSense ads. Your ad will appear on sites like The New York Times, The Washington Post, Forbes.com, CNet, private websites, shopping comparison networks, and even in e-newsletters. Your CPC is less when your click comes from the content network and is even based on which site delivers the highest documented CTR.
In June 2005, Google introduced a new program model called CPI or Cost Per Impression. With this Pay Per Click model you select the sites on which you would like your text or image ad to be displayed. Instead of paying by the click for those ads, you will pay by the 1000 impressions. Your minimum bid per 1000 impressions is $2.00. This model is a great selection for a client whose main thrust in advertising is creating or strengthening name or brand identity.
In addition to the many selections that you can make for showing your ads, you can also list sites where you do not want your ad to show. This is helpful when you feel that you are getting an inordinate amount of clicks from a particular site that may be spamming the system or working to fraudulently inflate a content publisher's Google AdSense payment.
Google's Smart Pricing Explained
We think one of the smartest things that Google AdWords does is use a tool called "Smart Pricing". Everyone wants their ads at the top of the page! To get there, you need to set your CPC at a reasonable, yet high figure, and your daily budget high enough to place your ad in the top 3 slots. This is where Smart Pricing kicks in. You only pay $.01 more than the highest current CPC. So even if you said you would pay $2 CPC and the going rate is only $1.65, you will pay only $1.66 for your CPC. The minimum CPC is $.01, but be prepared to pay more depending on how popular your keywords are. But be cautious on setting your maximum CPC too high as Google is able to charge you as much as your maximum figure for each click!
Try Local Advertising
We have also found that you can get great results targeting a 20-100 mile radius around your business location. But don't expect to pay less for regional clicks, as you are bumping nationally targeted ads out of the way to show your local ad. Your local ad may actually generate more quality prospects as they are local buyers. This is especially important if you are in real estate or insurance!

Our Google AdWords Tips
We have also found that to just drop your "clickee" on the home page of your website is not effective in creating a high conversion rate. We have learned to create a landing page for each ad, or group of ads with a similar theme, that clearly addresses the product or service that is featured in the ad. We include hard hitting sales content that is short and focused, with a keen call to action. We even include a small online contact form as well as phone numbers. All of these things help to increase your conversion rate -- turning prospects into buyers!
The bottom line is if you are paying $300 for each newspaper ad, $500 each month for 200 qualified leads, or simply doing no advertising at all and just hoping that a prospect will stumble across your website, you may want to consider using a targeted Google AdWords program right now.
With AdWords, after set up, your ads show up in about15 minutes, you may make unlimited changes, and you may pause an ad or ad group at any time. You can even set up and monitor your own account without professional assistance. However, if you don't want to go it alone, see us for pricing on professional set up and management of your campaign. We will research your competition, set up your account, craft your ads, create your landing pages, monitor your account every day, and report to you about your campaign activity with our recommendations for action. We can put AdWords to work for you bringing you qualified prospects and sales.
If you would like to know where your AdWords ad will show in the Google content network if you select to show your ads there, view this list from Google of the content network and partner sites.
