Helpful Tips
- Make sure to always spell check your blog. If you miss something, you can always click the edit post link to delete or update a previous post on your blog. When you do that, make sure you click Republish Entire Blog so the files on your web server will be updated.
- When you manually add a link to the link field just below the posting title, you must enter it in this format http://www.mydomainname.com/pagename.html or other page ending. The best solution is to simply copy the link exactly from your browser address bar at the top of your browser screen to make sure you have the page ending correctly as some pages will end with .html, .php, .asp or other endings.
How to Add to Your Blog Using the Blogger Button
First install the Google Toolbar found at http://toolbar.google.com/?promo=mor-tb-en. In the tool bar options menu under accessories make sure the orange B for the Blogger button is clicked.
When you are visiting a page that has great content that you want to share on your blog, simply click the orange B or Blogger button on the Google Toolbar.- A small Blogger screen will open with the familiar posting/publishing interface.
- Change the title of the post from the default to something catchy. Leave the link field alone under the title, as Blogger has automatically added the correct link.
- Remove the link that has been added in the content body section and add your own information, like why you liked the article, why people should read it, or your candid comments on the same topic. Don't get yourself in a pickle with a copyright issue by copying and pasting the article into your blog!
- Spell check your post. Sometimes the spell checker gets hung up, if so, delete the spell check window and just review the spelling manually.
- Click the publish button.
- Your blog is updated automatically without having to log in to Blogger.
