What's an Atom Feed?

Using our Blog Set Up Guide Settings, you have enabled Blogger to automatically set up an atom feed for your blog. This allows for viewers to subscribe to your blog and review your postings with My Yahoo!, news readers, and new aggregators.
Similar to RSS feeds, we equate atom feeds to an RSS feeds on steroids. Atom feeds carry much more information however. Both atom feeds and RSS feeds are created using XML.
Atom is a new standard for cross media compatibility, PDA, mobile phone, and PC. Look for growth in use of Atom feeds as they become embraced by more platforms and readers/new aggregators.
Not all news readers can read Atom feeds at this point. If that is a concern for you try Feedburner to turn your blog feed in to a variety of compatible feed types. The only draw back is that you loose your domain name listed in your feed name. We have opted not to use this service for that particular reason.
