Here is video made by Google AdWords that explains some very important topics such as quality score, how Google decides where ads place on the page, and the AdWords auction.
I know that when quality score on AdWords was rolled out several years ago that landing page quality was way more important than 5%. My advice is to still tweak your landing page, but clearly Google has changed over time how much they consider its importance.
